Obituary


Adeline R. Crave of Wareham, a long-time Provincetown resident, passed away Tuesday, July 6th at Tobey Hospital in Wareham after an illness. She was 86. Her husband, Isadore Crave died in 1997.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Lillian (Pesce) Crave. She met her late husband Isadore at a carnival in Provincetown in the mid-forties and they married in 1947.

She was a talented crafter, and worked at Hubert’s Restaurant and the Stephen Charles Leather Company.

In Provincetown, she volunteered with the Campfire Girls and the Girl Scouts, as well as with the local Civil Defense agency. She was a member of the Portuguese-American Civic League and a communicant at St Peter the Apostle Church.

Adeline leaves a son, Frank Crave of Beckett, Mass. and a daughter, Almeida Luster of Chattanooga, Tenn. She also leaves many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a Calling Hour Monday, July 19th, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Gately Funeral Home, 94 Harry Kemp Way, Provincetown. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 11 Prince St, Provincetown. Burial will be in St Peters Cemetery.
