Patricia (Lynch) “Pat” Dougherty, age 93, of Winchester, MA, formerly of Penn Valley, PA and the Bronx, NY, passed away on July 6, 2021. She was the beloved wife for 55 years of the late Malvin J. “Mal” Dougherty, M.D., until his passing in 2017.
Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, Pat attended Mount Saint Ursula Academy, Hunter College, and Fordham University, obtaining her Master’s degree in Education. She became an elementary school teacher and then Assistant Principal in the Bronx.
Upon her marriage to Mal, Pat moved to Pennsylvania and embraced her new role as wife and then mother.
Gracious and kind, Pat had many close friends and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Pat was an avid golfer, enthusiastic volunteer and devout Catholic.
Patricia is lovingly survived by her daughter, Patricia Dougherty Clewley, her husband Timothy, and three grandsons, William, John, and Scott Clewley, all of Winchester, and her daughter-in-law Janice Foust of Portsmouth, NH. Patricia was predeceased by her son, Thomas P. Dougherty and her parents William and Theresa Lynch. She is also survived by her twin sister Theresa Cawley Whelan of Gladwyne, PA, several nieces and one nephew. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11am on August 11 at St. John Vianney Church in Gladwyne, PA. Interment is private.
