Obituary

Faye Yvonne Crouell was born May 28, 1954 to the late William Johnson and Reatter Lee Harris. She exchanged her abundant life for eternal life on July 2, 2021. She was raised in a loving home where her mother and stepfather taught her how to love God and how to love God’s people. She instilled these principles into her two daughters Nanette and Natasha.

Faye was educated in the Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1972. She received her Associate’s in Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from Baltimore City Community College.

Faye utilized her degree in early childhood education and worked for the Saint Paul School and Upton Daycare. In 1985, Faye began her career as a wastewater management technician where she worked until she retired in 2016.

Faye Yvonne met James Crouell and was married on November 26, 1993 . They enjoyed several years of marital bliss and remained friends until her demise. Faye was a loving individual and had numerous friends. Some of her closet friends were Joyce, Skinny Faye, Stephanie, Charlotte, Gilda, Flight, Tony and Otis. She enjoyed a good laugh and had a great sense of humor.

Faye was an avid reader and enjoyed swapping books with her sister Theresa who also loved to read. Her passion for shopping far surpassed all the other hobbies she enjoyed. Faye loved to go to flea markets with her mother early on Saturday mornings. She also loved going to Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Ross, and Gabriel Brothers with her sister Janet and her close friend Glendora. They literally shopped until they dropped.

Mother Faye was a member at Restoration Ministries where she served on the Mother’s Board and the prayer band. She was the first one to call into prayer conference call each morning and enjoyed closing out the prayer calls. Prayer was what kept her during all of her illnesses and what ultimately ushered her into the presence of God.
