Obituary


Douglas S. Wagner 88, a longtime resident of Whitman, died Tuesday July 6 at the VA Medical Center in Brockton. He was the beloved husband of 54 years to the late Mary B. (DeWolfe) Wagner.

Born in Greenfield, MA he was the son of the late Lillian and Frank Wagner.

Douglas was a proud veteran of the US Navy having served during the Korean War, from 1952-1955 earning a National Defense Service Medal and Navy Occupational Service Medal.

Prior to his retirement he had worked many years as a machinist for the Tutill Corporation.

He enjoyed classic cars, and motorcycles and going everywhere with his wife Mary. He loved trips to the casinos, listening to country music and dancing.

He is survived by his children Duane M. Wagner and Deborah A. (Wagner) Delaney and six grandchildren James D. and Dwayne G. Delaney and Aiden V., Nolhan, Sadie R. and Nevin Wagner. He was predeceased by his wife Mary and his son Douglas S. Wagner, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visiting hours to be held on Tuesday August 3 from 5:00-7:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman.
