Clifford A. Chapdelaine, age 75, passed away on July 6, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on March 7, 1946 in Bronx, NY, a son of the late Albert and Julia (Delaney) Chapdelaine. Clifford served in the US Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. He served in Submarines and spent 3 years of his 4 year service under water. He later worked as a custodian for the Chicopee Public Library for over 25 years before he retired. He is survived by his loving wife, whom he was married to for 40 years as of June 13, 2021, Lenora D. (MacNeil) Chapdelaine of Chicopee; his son Jason Clifford Chapdelaine of Springfield; one brother, Harold Chapdelaine and his wife Karen of Chicopee. Clifford was a father figure to Eric, Jayson and Anthony Santos and a grandfather to Catelyn M. Santos-Snape and Cameron Clifford Santos. He was a wonderful son-in-law to Leona Mac Neil (Sparky), who lived with him and his wife for 22 years prior to her passing in 2010. He is predeceased by his brother Stephen George Chapdelaine. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Monday, July 12, 2021 from 7:30 – 8:30 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Name/Assumption Church at 9:00 AM. Committal service and military honors will be rendered at the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
