June O’Berry Hodnett, 87, of Tifton went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Andy Ring and the Rev. Michael Slaven officiating. Mrs. Hodnett will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 9, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Timothy Hodnett, Johnathan Hodnett, Wesley Hodnett, Zackary Hodnett, Cameron Perry and Josh Mathis will serve as pallbearers.
Born April 30, 1934, in Sarasota, Florida, Mrs. Hodnett was the daughter of the late Noah A. O’Berry and Eula Stephens Myers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry F. Hodnett, who she married on March 30, 1952. She retired from Oxford of Tifton and had previously worked as a switchboard operator for Southern Bell. She was a member of Zion Hope Baptist Church, where she was active in her Sunday School class and a member of the Zion Hope Prayer Warriors.
Mrs. Hodnett is survived by his one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Karen Pritchard Hodnett of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Richard Perry of Tifton; her grandchildren and their spouses, Russell and Holly Hodnett, Nick and Jo Hodnett, Rick and Erin Hodnett and LeAnne and Randy Meadows, all of Tifton and Katherine and Russell Merritt of Scooterville; her great-grandchildren, Johnathan Hodnett (Ritz Hodnett), Timothy Hodnett, Cameron Perry (Kaylee Lumpkin), Leslie Hodnett, Zackary Hodnett, Carolina Carter (Brian Yambao), Karen Ouano (Josh Mathis), Wesley Hodnett (Alli Hodnett), Alexis Hodnett, Brooklyn Meadows, Preston Hodnett, Caleb Napier, Carlie Hodnett, River Merritt and Ridge Merritt; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Bailey of Tifton.
