
Ida Elizabeth “Libby” Lester, 78, of Oakley, California, died October 24, 2005, at Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch, California.
Memorial services will be at 1 PM, Saturday, April 8, 2006, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, with Rev. Kelly Brown officiating.
Mrs. Lester was born June 17, 1927 in Arcadia, Florida, to the late Adolphus and Mary Floyd Gardner. She was a former resident of Fitzgerald and Jacksonville, Florida. Mrs. Lester was a retired school bus driver, retiring from the Newark United School District in 1973 after 10 years of service. She was a homemaker who enjoyed southern cooking and taking care of their dog, Taro. Mrs. Lester was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Ladies of Nasah. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Lester is survived by her daughter: Elizabeth Ann (Rob) Banas, Antioch, CA; sons: Thomas C. (Susan) Lester, Jr., Oakley, CA and Terry “Bill” (Raeteen) Lester, Fremont, CA; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Lester, Sr. and sisters, Mary and Frances.
