Gary B. Levesque, 1950-2021

Winchester MA and Old Orchard Beach ME – Gary B. Levesque, beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle, passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2021 in Maine, where he and his wife Dawn spent many magical years at their beach house enjoying the ocean and beautiful moonrises.

Gary was born on December 13, 1950 in Cambridge MA, the eldest son of Helen and Henry Levesque. He graduated from Peabody High School and attended McGill University, where he studied mathematics. Gary had a very successful career as a business executive in the telecommunications industry, working at the telephone company, ROLM, IBM, Nordstan Resale and Siemens.

While he was proud of his professional accomplishments, family was the center of Gary’s life. He was devoted to his daughter Nicole and loved every minute of being an active father. She was the apple of his eye and he was so proud of her. He adored his grandchildren Oliver and Zara, and the fun times they spent together at the Train House and the Beach House. He and Dawn were rare soul-mates whose zest for life, laughter and adventures together was undiminished over the years. Gary’s family and friends knew him as an extremely bright, kind, loving, caring and generous person who was fun to be around. He always had a smile and a sparkle in his eyes. He lived life to the fullest, and was interested and curious about everything. He was a loyal Red Sox fan, he enjoyed automobiles, travel, and the little things in life.

Gary was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Jack. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Dawn Piccolo, his daughter Nicole Brown and her husband Rob Brown, his grandchildren Oliver and Zara Brown, his nephew and niece Ben and Grace Ashley, and many other treasured family members and friends.

A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., in Winchester MA on Thursday, July 8 at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s church, 155 Washington St., Winchester. Please Note: At the family’s request, COVID vaccinations are required for all attending the Memorial Service or
Funeral Mass.

Memorial donations may be made to an organization close to Gary’s heart, a nondenominational nonprofit that provides home furnishings to local families in need – Mission of Deeds, 6 Chapin Avenue, Reading MA 01867. missionofdeeds.org.
