Obituary

On June 23 2021, Michael Wayne Bodley , 63, quietly said “goodbye” to this world and “hello” to the next. He was born at Camp Lejeune, USMC, Jacksonville, North Carolina on Aug 23 1957 the first son of Roger and Joanne Bodley. He leaves a sorrowful family; brothers Kurt and wife Kathy, Keith and wife Cathy, Marty and wife Danielle, mother (father deceased) and Erin long time love. Many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and friends will miss his “joie de vivre”.
He had a variety of employment experiences. While living in Framingham he was a licensed union carpenter. Following that, he worked with Creositex, a laser imaging company and Encor Dental Labs putting his carving skills to good use. As an entrepreneur he owned and operated two businesses, Gutter Hat and Nhance a wood finishing business.

Like his father, he was constantly involved with a project whether it be fishing, cooking, carving, golf, pottery, gardening or numerous other activities. He was especially fond of the ocean, gathering shells, driftwood and various flotsam and jetsam. He and Erin spent many hours walking the beaches and family fish dinners were his specialty.

As a young man, he (and family) spent several years in Australia where he still has many friends. Over the years he became a good friend of Bill W and maintained that relationship for the rest of his life. His generosity and willingness to help others was truly inspiring.

Erin has earned much more than a thank you for the loving care which allowed Mike to stay at home. Together with hospice they provided comfort for not only Mike but the family.
Services will be private.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to The Bridge House New England Aftercare Ministries, PO Box 136, Framingham MA. 01704 or online at The Bridge House.
