Carole Grace Guglielmino Vilandrie, of Smithfield, RI, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Heritage Hills Nursing Center on June 30, 2021.
Born in Providence, RI on Christmas Day, Carole was the third child and first daughter of Salvatore and Catherine (Lojeck) Guglielmino. A graduate of North Providence High School, she worked for many years as a legal secretary, first for Marcaccio & Marcaccio and later for Adler, Pollack & Sheehan. Carole retired in 2014.
Carole was married to her childhood sweetheart, Edward J. Vilandrie, on October, 12, 1965. Carole and Ed were the proud parents of Jeannine Marie, Edward Joseph, Jr., and Lauren Ann. They enjoyed a long, happy marriage until Ed’s passing in 2005.
Carole may have been a successful working mom, but her true devotion was to her family. She never missed a swim meet or a baseball or water polo game. She also loved to entertain for her extended family, her many friends, and her children’s friends and teams. Her pre-swim meet spaghetti dinners were legendary! Nothing made Carole happier than cooking and caring for her children, and later, her grandchildren.
Carole is survived by her daughter, Jeannine Warrener, her husband, Mark, and their sons, Aidan and Cameron; her son, Ed Vilandrie, Jr., his wife, Martha Cavanaugh, and their children Avery and Nevin; her daughter, Lauren Ashby, her husband, David, and their daughter, Ella; her siblings Leonard Guglielmino, Sandra Panciera, and Sal Guglielmino; sister-in-law, Paula Vilandrie; as well as many cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Ed Vilandrie, Sr. and her brother, Victor Guglielmino.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, 9-11am in the Anderson-Winfield Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Her funeral service will be at 11am. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Ronald McDonald House.
