Obituary

Raguel Theodore loving husband and father of five passed away at the age of 84, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA on June 25th, 2021, surrounded by family.
Raguel Theodore was born to the late Inela Theodore and Das Malbranche on October 10th, 1936; raised in Macean, Aquin (South of Haiti).
Prior to migrating to the United States, he lived and worked in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He was a man with many talents. He was a Taylor/Dressmaker/handbags manufacturer; he worked for many years in Tourism through the Association of Tour Guides “Chauffeur Guide” of Haiti. He migrated to Massachusetts in 1983 where he retired after over 20 years of employment with the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
Raguel enjoyed getting his hands dirty. He was always working on his car or repairing something in the house or taking care of his garden. Post retirement he was able to accomplish a dream of returning to his place of birth and farming the land. Over his last few years, despite his health, he was tending to a small garden which he enjoyed in the yard of the complex where he lived.
During his 2 ½ years battle with cancer, he showed his courage in facing life’s challenges without complaint and a smile on his face. Despite the pain he never protested or blamed God. He remained strong with hope to overcome the illness until the end. He was an active member of Berea Missionary Church with his loving family.
Raguel is survived by his wife Servela Theodore, his two daughters Joumathe and Marie-Noel Theodore, his two sons Doublas and Gerathel Theodore, his daughters-in-laws Kristin and Merline Noel-Theodore, his granddaughter Shanaya Theodore, his two grandsons Gabe Keller and Cevelance Theodore, his brother Thomas Malbranche, and nieces and nephews, plus his many dear friends.
Raguel was loved by many, too many to name. We wanted to acknowledge the special father/daughter/son relationship he had with Ruthza & Polycarpe Raymond and his special relationship with the Occius family.
In addition to his parents, Raguel was predeceased by his eldest daughter Reginale Theodore and his brother Davilmar Malbranche.
A viewing is scheduled for 9:45 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday July 9th, 2021, at L’Eglise De Dieu de la Grace, located at 257 Pearl St Malden, MA and a Christian Funeral service to follow. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be held at Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden and reception to follow.
“We love you Papi, rest in peace!”
