Obituary

James Andrew “Drew” Pelusi, age 23, of Winchester, passed away on June 25, 2021. He was the beloved son of James A. and Faith (Rothwell) Pelusi. Dear brother of Anna J. and Jake A. Pelusi, both of Winchester. Cherished grandson of Jean Anne Pelusi and the late John Pelusi and Dawn Sapuntzoff and the late James Mason Rothwell II. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, including John and Cathy Pelusi of Allison Park PA and their four children - Jamie Pelusi, John C. and Lia Pelusi, Jacquie Pelusi and Chinar Desai, and Jodie Pelusi; Jeff and Holly Pelusi of Export, PA and their 3 children - Chase Pelusi, Jordan Pelusi and Joshua Pelusi; JC and Mary Jean Pelusi of Mars, PA and their 2 children - Julianne Pelusi and Jono Pelusi; James M. Rothwell III and Terry Rothwell of Ashville, OH and their 2 children - Nick and Madison Trout and Alyssa Rothwell; Jill Rothwell of Jacksonville, FL and her son Sean O’Connor and Jason and Regan Rothwell of Lexington, KY.

Born in Boston, Drew was raised in Winchester, MA, and attended Lexington Christian Academy High School, graduating with the class of 2016.

Drew completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science at Boston University and was two courses shy of completing his Master’s Degree, also at BU. He was co-president of the Software Applications Club at BU. Drew worked as a software engineering intern at Charles River Analytics for nearly 3 years in Cambridge, MA.

Drew was an avid technologist and participated in competitive hackathons and had started developing his own video game. He loved spending a week with his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins on his annual summer vacations in Ocean City, NJ. He enjoyed several wonderful vacation adventures with his family to Costa Rica, the Grand Canyon, Italy and an African Safari. In his spare time, he loved to hike and camp in the mountains and rivers of New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine with his friends, and he loved skiing.

Drew loved his family and friends deeply and was deeply loved by his family and friends.

Funeral Information: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at St, Eulalia’s Church, Winchester, on Wednesday, June 30, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Eulalia’s Church, 50 Ridge St., Winchester, at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 1. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
