Elizabeth (Bette) Gaughan of Westwood, passed away peacefully June 18, 2021.
She was raised in Dorchester, and later lived in Norwood, Stoughton, and Westwood. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter Francis Gaughan, and Helen "White" Gaughan of Westwood. She was a retired nurse, and had worked at Boston City Hospital, was the Director of Nursing, for many years, at the Ellis Nursing Home, in Norwood, and later worked at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center. She loved to spend time with her family, friends, and most enjoyed being a grandmother, to her four grandchildren. She was caring, selfless, compassionate, generous, and always sympathetic. She is survived by her sons Michael Vrabel, and his wife Dawn of Canton, Jeffrey Vrabel, and his wife Kerry, of Mansfield, and was the sister to Michael Gaughan, and his wife Elaine, of Medford, Theresa Harris, and her husband James, of Westwood, Marie Rouissi, and her husband Assad, of Stoughton, the late Peter Gaughan, and his wife Dianne of Walpole, Paul Gaughan, and his wife Kathleen, of Attleboro, and Julie Magyar, and her husband Patrick, of Mansfield. She was the devoted grandmother to Amanda, Samantha, Alli and Cameron Vrabel, and Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed.
A celebration of her life and memorial will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. at the Norwood Elks Lodge, 152 Winslow Avenue, Norwood, MA.
