Edmund Giove, “Phil”, Beloved Husband of Phyllis Giove and loving mother of Therese Giove died peacefully with loved ones at Kaplan Family Hospice House on Feb. 21, 2021 following a 3 year bout of living with the progressive Alzeimer’s disease. Beloved son of Vito and Rosa Giove, Eddie was one of 13 children and the second of two remaining. His sister Margaret survives him at age 98. He was an uncle to several nieces and nephews across multiple generations on both sides of the family.
Previous to the disease onset, Eddie and Phyllis were members of the Forestdale Park assisted Living Community in Malden where they lived last 2 years. Before relocating back to New England, Eddie spent 6 wonderful years in Boynton Beach Florida. Eddie loved the ocean and she and wife Phyllis spent many wonderful years vacationing Oceanside at St. Pete Beach and many Caribbean islands. They always had FUN wherever they traveled and loved fine food and enjoyed music and dancing. Our family grew up vacationing at Cape Cod every summer and we have cherished loving memories by the seashore. spirit a
Eddie was known for his big smile and the twinkle in his eyes, his generosity and love of LIFE! He was passionate about everything he did. He enjoyed going to the reacetrack to handicap horses, he was great at math and had a sharp mind and wit. He was devoted to his wife and family.
Immediate services were private due to the Covid Pandemic. There will be church services for Eddie and Phyllis on Saturday, June 26th at St. John the Evangelist Church in Winthrop at 11 AM, followed by a celebration of their lives for invited guests.
