Nancy E. (Dunbar) LeClair, 85, of Chester, NH, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Tarrytown, NY on December 21, 1935, a daughter of John and Florence (Wood) Dunbar. Nancy spent her childhood in Ardsley, NY. She completed high school in Ridgefield, CT and went on to attend UCONN. Nancy married her soulmate, Larry, on May 23, 1959. They resided in Danbury, CT until setting in Chester, NH in 1969 where they raised three children.
Nancy spent many years as the presidential secretary of White Pines college in Chester, NH. She then pursued her passion for the medical field by spending twelve years working for NH Orthopedic Surgery. She was an avid watercolor painter, loved nature and animals (especially piggies and cows), loved to garden, and spend winters at her home in Ellenton, FL.
She is survived by her loving husband, Larry LeClair of Chester; two daughters, Kathy LeClair of Chester and Michelle Williams and husband John of Attleboro, MA; son, Ken LeClair and wife Karen of Chester; three granddaughters, Katie LeClair, Nicole LeClair, and Sarah Williams; grandson, Mike Williams; great-grandson, Noah; as well as several nieces and nephews. Nancy was predeceased by her parents and her two brothers, Joe and Dick Dunbar.
Following cremation calling hours will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021, from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH with a memorial service to follow at 1:00pm. Face masks are recommended for those who are not fully vaccinated. The burial will be in Great Hill Cemetery, Rt. 121A, Chester.
