Obituary

CHICOPEE – William C. “Bill” Walton, 93, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, June 18, 2021. He was born in Sylacauga, Alabama on October 13, 1927, a beloved son of the late Aubrey Chester Walton and Dottie L. (Wesson) Walton. He was a three-war veteran who served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. During his military career he received the World War II Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal, the Berlin Airlift Device, the Air Member Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend, Mildred E. (LaPorte) Walton who was Called Home on December 15, 2006, and his beloved son, Carl Armbruster. He leaves his seven loving children, Nelson F. Walton and his fiancée, Donna Lonis, William C. Walton, Jr., Kevin L. Armbruster and his wife, Jayne, Karen Armbruster-Turner, Nora Kasulinous, Keith Armbruster and his wife, Cleona, and Thomas Kasulinous and his wife, Joann; his two dear sisters, Martha Lou Smith and Kay Smith; his many cherished grandchildren; and his many dear nephews, nieces and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Service of Committal for Bill with United States Air Force Military Honors along with a Committal Service for his late wife, Mildred on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
