Theresia Cassidy, 85, of Greenville Avenue, Johnston, died Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Miriam Hospital in Providence. She was the widow of Robert F. Cassidy.
Born in Alt-Langedoff, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Emerich and Elizabeth Scheinost. She had lived in Johnston for 53 years.
She had worked at FAF for over 20 years before retiring.
A life well-lived, she was happiest when spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling, following politics, reading, and gardening in her yard. She was proud to be an American citizen and appreciated all the privileges that came with it.
She is survived by her daughters: Rhonda Cassidy-Talan and her husband, Andrew of West Greenwich, Roxanne Cassidy and her husband, Christopher Leahey of Exeter, her grandchildren: Aidan Leahey, Conlan Leahey, Kerenza Leahey and a sister, Irma Cassidy of Leland, North Carolina. She was the sister of the late Analise Scheinost.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, 8-9am followed by a service at 9am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will follow in RI Veteran’s Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday evening 4-6pm.
