Obituary

James D. Dalton, 83, of Paris, MS, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital N-MS in Oxford, MS. A veteran of World War II in the U.S. Army, Mr. Dalton was retired from Big Yank Corp. in Water Valley, MS where he worked in the cutting department. He was a member of Paris Baptist Church and served as a Deacon there. Born in Quitman County MS to William B. Dalton and Katie Edwards Dalton, he was married to Lavelle Harmon Dalton.

The family will receive friends at visitation on Sunday, April 2, 2006 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until service time of 2:00 PM. The funeral services will be conducted in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home by Rev. Jimmy Sockwell and Rev. Rick Glidewell. Interment will follow in Paris Cemetery, Paris, MS with Marty Harmon, Mark Yarbrough, Scott Yarbrough, Dave Yarbrough, Eddie Harmon, Mack Thweatt, Tim Castleberry, Buck Dalton, Phil Yarbrough and Jamie Harmon serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Dalton is survived by his wife, Lavelle Harmon Dalton of Paris, MS: son Richard “Ricky” Dalton and wife Jennifer of Paris, MS and daughter Donna Dalton of Paris, MS and Grandchildren Danna Dalton and Dylan Dalton of Paris, MS.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Elton and Doyce Dalton.
