WEBSTER–Rita M. (Dube) Gatto, 88, of 100 Worcester Road, formerly of Worcester died Thursday, March 30th, in her home. Her husband Ernest F. Gatto died in 1989. She is survived by two sons, Ernest F. Gatto, Jr. of Webster and Francis A. Gatto of Sutton; three daughters, Gail R. Atherton of Bedford, NH, Geraldine A. Festa of Brooklyn, CT and Rita M. Brausam of Peoria, AZ; two sisters Florence R. Allaire of Worcester and Helen E. Magee of Spencer; 19 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers Albert J. Dube, Jr. and Ralph A. Dube and two sisters Loretta B. Norberg and Bertha M. Gatto predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Albert J. and Rose J. (Lavallee) Dube. Mrs. Gatto was a graduate of Commerce High School, Assumption College and took courses at Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing. She was an accomplished oil painter, an avid reader and loved gardening and calligraphy. Mrs. Gatto was the manager of E.F. Gatto Heating Contractor and previously worked at Hahnemann Hospital as a Registered Nurses Aide.
The funeral is Tuesday, April 4th from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Monday, April 3rd, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
