Jacqueline A. “Jackie” Hensley, 90, lifelong Anderson resident, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.
She was born on October 5, 1930 in Anderson, the daughter of Paul and Pauline (Hartzell) Comer. Jackie was a 1948 graduate of Anderson High School and following that attended Anderson University and Ball State University. She was an elementary teacher in the Anderson Community Schools for 17 years and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Jackie is survived by her loving son and caregiver, Donald Hensley of Anderson; son, Jerry (wife Diane) Hensley of Illinois, and daughter, Fara (Ted) Hennington of Mississippi; special friend and co-caregiver, Trent Boyd; sister, Eleanor Reid of California and brother, Gordon (Donna) Comer of Anderson; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 1 pm at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Dondeena Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Hawk Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family beginning two hours prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorial contributions to the Farada and Jacqueline Hensley Scholarship Fund administered by Madison County Community Foundation, 911 Meridian Plaza, Anderson, IN 46016
