Obituary

Christopher Platt, 37, of Manchester, NH, passed away unexpectedly after surgical complications on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at his home. He was born in Lowell on April 16, 1984 and was a son of Robert Platt and Ludovina Platt.

He was raised and educated in Lowell, and attended Lowell High School. More recently he lived in Manchester. He worked in the shipping department at Zoll Medical in Chelmsford for many years.

Chris was both a passionate and gifted wrestler, however what he really took pride in was taking young and hopeful beginners under his wing. Seeing them succeed even took precedence over his own accomplishments. This is just one facet of life where Chris was incredibly giving. He was loyal & thoughtful by nature & his family & friends knew they could rely on him for anything. Whether it was the right gift, or right thing to say, Chris was sensitive to the little things. He knew exactly what people needed & when they needed it, even if they couldn’t see it for themselves. This was especially true with his family. In his own words, taking care of his daughter was the “soul purpose” of his life. In the short time they had together, Chris put his whole heart into his new role as a father. Although he is no longer physically with us, his spirit lives on through his beloved baby girl.

He is survived by his longtime partner, Erica Chakmakas and their infant daughter, Elizabeth Ivy Platt, both of Manchester, NH; his parents, Robert and Ludovina (Connie) Platt of Lowell; and his brother, Nick Platt of North Carolina. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was the grandson of the Joao and Evangelina Silva, and John and Doris Platt, and he is also predeceased by two aunts and an uncle.

On Saturday, June 19, 2021 all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 10 a.m.-12 noon at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, 978-458-6816.
