Obituary

Marie C. Moylan-Kerwin

Bourne – Marie C. Moylan-Kerwin (Mullen) 91, of Scituate, N. Falmouth, Bourne and Naples, FL, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2021.

Marie was born and raised in Newton, the daughter of the late George L. Mullen and Catherine Lyons Mullen and sister to the late William J. Mullen. She graduated from Newton High School after which she worked as the administrative assistant to the dean at Boston College. It was there that she met, fell in love with, and married the late John E. (Jack) Moylan; together they raised nine children in Scituate until his passing in 1979. Marie later married the late William F. Kerwin, and together they retired to their dream home in North Falmouth and then Bourne until his passing in June of 2012.

Family and friends meant everything to Marie. She was the consummate hostess and loved to entertain. She had a knack for making her house the home where everyone wanted to gather and celebrate occasions, big and small. Most important in Marie’s life were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; she had a way of making each feel special and loved.

She is survived by her children: Thomas Moylan and his wife Bridget of Mashpee; William Moylan of Naples, FL; Jack Moylan, Jr. and his wife Robin of Marstons Mills; Garrett Moylan and his wife Cindy of Newport, VT; Richard Moylan and his wife Jane of Yarmouth, ME; Charles Moylan and his wife Theresa of Pembroke; Pamela Coady of Bourne and her husband Sean; Jeffrey Moylan and his wife Helina of Plymouth; and Nancy Moylan of Naples, FL. Her stepchildren include: Linda Ryan and her husband James, Donna Lane, Kathleen Kerwin, Ann Marie Tulis and her husband Joseph, and the late Michael Kerwin.

She was the beloved Nana to 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers and to honor Marie’s life, memorial donations may be made in her name to Fidelis Hospice at Royal Megansett Nursing Home, 25 Railroad Square, Haverhill, MA 01832. A private family memorial gathering will take place a later date.
