Geraldine “Judy” Griffin, 86, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Life Care Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, June 18, 2021, at Eastside Holiness Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Rob Merritt and the Rev. Greg Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Griffin was born June 22, 1934, in Wilcox County, Georgia, to the late James Hilton & Minnie Lee Johnson Peacock. She was a homemaker and lived in the community most all of her life. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Griffin was the oldest living member of Eastside Holiness Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Lamonte Griffin of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Amanda Griffin, Jessica Griffin and Joshua Griffin, all of Fitzgerald; and a brother, James Wallace & Janet Peacock of Fitzgerald. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Griffin; a son, Lavone Griffin; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Soles Griffin; and two sisters: Dorothy Silvers and Melba Chambers.
