Obituary

HOWARD, Eileen Frances of Wellesley Hills, passed away on June 10, 2021 after a brief illness. Born in Boston, MA on June 17, 1938.

Eileen is survived by her daughters Elizabeth Howard Gorman of Natick and Amy Lindsay Nicholas of Melbourne, Australia. She is also survived by her sons-in-law Charles H. Gorman of Natick, and Andrew John Nicholas of Melbourne, Australia. She adored her granddaughters, Vera Elizabeth Gorman and Juliana Rose Gorman, both of Natick. She is predeceased by her sisters Elizabeth Anne Artiaga and Sheila May Tilton, but stayed very close to their children, Eileen Artiaga, Laura Tilton and Adam Tilton (deceased). 

Eileen worked in the Boston Public School system for more than 50 years, mainly teaching at the John F. Kennedy School in Jamaica Plain. 

She attended Girls Latin School, Boston in her youth and went on to earn a Master’s in Education.

She had many interests including languages, dance, travel, interior design and music. Eileen's first love, and greatest role was that of mother and grandmother. 

Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) WELLESLEY, on Tuesday, June 29 from 4-7pm. A celebration of her life will take place at the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church on Wednesday, June 30 at 11am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. She will be buried at Mount Auburn cemetery, Cambridge beside her parents, John J. and Frances O'Neill.
