Colleen W. Porter, formerly of Tewksbury, MA passed away from this life and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the home of her daughter. She was 96 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband Vinal J. Porter, formerly of Tewksbury, MA and her son Andrew P. Porter, formerly of Jackson, TN. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Savard and her husband Richard of Hardwick, MA; her sons, Roger W. Porter and his wife Diane of Londonderry, NH, Ted J. Porter and his wife Ruth-Ellen of Plymouth, ME, and Eric S. Porter and his wife Karen of Chester, NH. Colleen is also survived by her sister, Patty Simmons and her husband Bill of Jackson, TN; and her daughter in law, Ruth Porter of Bells, of TN. Her love of family is represented by her legacy of five children, 17 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
She was a lover of the outdoors and especially fly fishing with her husband Vinal in the North Maine woods for several years after their retirement. They also spent significant time over the years in Jackson, TN where Colleen grew up and had a very large extended family. Many in Tewksbury might have known her as the Baker at the Tewksbury Junior High School where she made fresh breads and desserts for over 20 years.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 18th from 5:00pm - 7:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, June 19th at 10:30am in the funeral home. The family requests that masks are not required for those fully vaccinated and requested for those not fully vaccinated. Colleen will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Liberty Church Cemetery in Bethel Springs, TN. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Overlook Hospice in Charlton, MA.
