GURKIN, Jack F. Of Needham and Popponesset, died peacefully surrounded by his family June 13, 2021. Beloved husband of Ethel E. (Hansen) Gurkin for 63 years. Devoted father of Susan M. Gurkin of Needham, Katy Gurkin of Framingham, Joanne Gurkin Butler and her husband Thomas Butler of Natick, Jeanne Burke and her husband Robert Burke of Millis, and John F. Gurkin Jr. of Needham. Grandfather of John Gurkin and his wife Alicen, Elizabeth Gurkin, Allison Burke, and Samuel Butler. Brother of Patricia Marsters of Plymouth and the late Roy Gurkin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jack was a retired electrical engineer for Boston Edison for 43 years. He was a graduate of Northeastern University. He was an active member of St. Joseph Parish, Needham and member of the Needham K of C #1611.
Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave., NEEDHAM on Wednesday, June 16 from 4-7pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday, June 17 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, Needham at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Needham Cemetery, Needham.
