Obituary

On the night of June 10, 2021, at approximately 10:45 PM, Jordany Delva, of Hyde Park, MA passed away after a long, painful battle with a host of ailments stemming from a brain hemorrhage that he suffered suddenly a decade ago.
Jordany was born in Lascahobas, Haiti, on March 29, 1941, and raised in Port Au Prince. He was raised by his mother who, in contrast to his very mellow father, was a strict disciplinarian. His older sister also had a big part in his upbringing.
He developed a reputation of trust worthiness as he grew up. Everyone knew they could count on him. He built strong friendships based on trust.
He met his would-be wife in the town of Savanette, Haiti. They were married, and soon started a family.
He was working as a tailor when he got his chance to come to the US along with his young wife. Together, they set about establishing themselves in a totally foreign land, because they knew this new world would give their children a better chance.
He was a restless soul who had worn, including his trade as a tailor, many hats in his life. He was a bus driver and a cab driver. He had been a window cleaner and maintenance man. He was proud of any job he had, especially the one he held the longest, Working for Brigham and Women’s Hospital's Engineering department.
His hard work helped afforded his children, and by extension his grandchildren opportunities he could never even dream of.
He was a very sociable person. He tried to get to know as many of his children's employers as he could. He was most proud of his children when they were gainfully employed, so he would make it a point to show up at their various jobs. He believed in hard work but wanted something more to come from his children’s hard work than had come from his.
He loved to tell jokes, but most of the time, the humor would be lost on his children. He Was the original purveyor of dad jokes.
Jordany is survived by the mothers of his children, Agathe, Marguerite, and Mireille, as well as his children, Jean-Fenol Delva, Jean-Terson Delva, Jean Rones Delva, John Woodlon Delva, and Liona Delva and his grandchildren Taniya Isshoni Delva, Xoe Delva, and Londen Delva. He also leaves behind His Beloved Sister and Greatest advocate Melicienne Delva as well as a host of nieces and nephews and his greatest lifelong best friend, Genel Occelus.
Jordany Delva was a restless soul, and now, may he rest in peace forever.
