Obituary

Michael J. Williamson, 74 of Brockton passed away at his home on June 4, 2021 with his wife Joan, son Joshua and his daughter Jessica by his side, after the most courageous battle with cancer. His last days were spent surrounded by his friends and family.

Michael was born in Ludlow, MA, son of the late Edward and Helen (Kowalski) Williamson. He was a member of the 1964 class of Ludlow High School. He graduated from Central Connecticut College and later continued his education at Boston University where he obtained his master's degree. Early in his professional life Michael worked for the Red Cross, then the Chamber of Commerce in Springfield, Brockton and Middleboro. He ended his professional career as a real estate broker, opening a brokerage with his son Joshua.

Michael loved to fish and explore the outdoors. He always enjoyed finding new fishing spots. He was also a hunter who liked to hunt with his dogs and his best friend Paul White.

Michael’s love for nature was only surpassed by the love of his two grandsons, Michael was the proud "Beepa" to John, Jr., “JJ” and Joseph “Joe-Joe” Curtis who simply adored him, and he was proud to be their “Beepa”. They were the lights of his life and he never smiled more or was happier then when he was around them. They were one of the main reasons he kept fighting so long, so he could have more time with them and watch them grow up.

Michael is survived by his wife Joan (Borelli) Williamson and his children Joshua Williamson of Brockton, MA., and Jessica Curtis and her husband John of Hanson, MA., His grandchildren, John, Jr. and Joseph Curtis. He was the brother of William Williamson and his wife Kathleen of Ludlow, MA., and Raymond Williamson and his wife Karen of Ludlow, MA, and the brother-in-law of Albert Stonkus and his late wife Frances Stonkus of Pembroke, MA. He was best friend of Paul White of Longmeadow, MA., and the uncle of the late Brett Williamson. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday June 15, 2021 in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton from 4-7pm with a service at 6pm.
