Obituary

Tewksbury James “Jim” Nolan of Tewksbury, 79, of Tewksbury MA, passed away after a brief illness on June 4, 2021. He was the husband of the late Jean L. (Brown) Nolan, with whom he celebrated their thirtieth wedding anniversary before she passed away in October of last year.

Jim was born in Chelsea, on February 3, 1942, and attended the local schools there. For most of his life he resided in Tewksbury and was a communicant of St. William's Church.

He worked for the Tewksbury Department of Public Works for many years, where he was proud to have worked his way up to become the Superintendent before his retirement. Most recently he enjoyed spending his time helping out as the facilities manager at the Tewksbury Federal Credit Union.

Jim was a happy guy who loved to talk to people and was always was happy to see you. He enjoyed playing pool at the Tewksbury Senior Center, traveling to the beach and solving the world’s problems with the guys over coffee. Plus, for more than 20 years he made sure to spread news and smiles all over his Judith E. Drive neighborhood.

He is survived by his children James W. Nolan of Maine, Beverly Aiman and her husband, Scott, of Chatham, NH, Greg Nolan of Tewksbury, Mary-Alice Goodnow and her husband, Robert of Shrewsbury, Laurajean Beauchemin and her husband, Robert, of Dracut, Tad Furtado and his wife, Annie Wehrli of Conway, NH, John Furtado and his wife, Kira, of Hudson, NH. He is also survived by many grandchildren, his great granddaughter, his longtime best friend, Walter Rooney, and he was a friend of Bill W.

ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND HIS FUNERAL MASS THAT WILL BE OFFERED ON FRIDAY JUNE 11, 2021 AT 10:00 A.M. AT ST. WILLIAMS CHURCH, 1351 MAIN STREET, TEWKSBURY FOLLOWED BY BURIAL IN TEWKSBURY CEMETERY.
