Rosemarie P. Amato (Giallongo) passed away at home on the night of June 4th. She was 81. Rosemarie was raised in Medford, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Mafalda (LaFrazia) Giallongo. A Medford resident for most of her life, she and her husband lived in Stoneham for the past several years. They also enjoyed spending plenty of time in Florida. Rosemarie was devoted to her family. As her children grew up, she worked as the secretary in the Health Office at Medford High School. Rosemarie enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. Most of all she loved being a grandmother and spent as much time as possible with her grandchildren whom she adored.
The beloved wife of Joseph V. Amato, Rosemarie was the devoted mother of Joseph V. Amato, Jr. of Arlington and Gina M. Eldridge of North Reading. She was a loving “Nana” to Carli Marie and Anthony Eldridge. Rosemarie was the dear sister of Richard Giallongo of Florida.
Funeral services for Rosemarie will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, please honor her memory by making a contribution in her name to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
