ROSE LEBLANC

Rose Elizabeth “Tootie” (Holt) LeBlanc, age 84, of Pequot Ave., Mystic, died Tuesday afternoon at Mystic Manor Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.

“Tootie” was born in New London on February 11, 1918 one of 12 children to Thomas Merrill Holt and Grace Eliza (Beauchamp) Holt. Raised in Mystic, she attended local schools.

She was employed as a machine operator at the former Sonoco Products plant in Mystic for 28 years before retiring in 1970.

She was married to Donald Joseph “Frenchie” LeBlanc in Nova Scotia on October 18, 1946. He died May 23, 1984.

“Tootie” leaves five brothers, Russell and Clarence Holt, both of Pawcatuck, Robert and Thomas Holt, both of Mystic, Edward of Florida, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Aflred Holt, and 3 sisters, Marion Geyer, Gladys Burdick, and Fannie Holt.

Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Friday from 10-11am followed by a service at 11am conducted by Rev. Lisabeth M. Gustafson, pastor of the Old Mystic Bapstist Church. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery.
