Barbara L. Anderson, 70, of Chester, NH, died Saturday June 5, 2021 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Northampton, MA on November 3, 1950, a daughter of the late William and Lois (Prince) Collins. She had been a resident of Chester for the past 42 years. She was a graduate of the Sacred Heart Nursing School, Class of 1972, and had been employed as a nurse at Birchwood Nursing Home, and most recently for Home Health and Hospice. Barbara was very community minded and volunteered around Chester. She was also involved with the Girl Scouts.
She is survived by her children, Amanda Anderson and her husband Andrew Pomerleau, Kenneth Anderson, and Jessica Hogan and her husband Doug; her grandchildren, Liam Anderson, Rowan Hogan, Wren and Corbin Hogan, and Madeleine Pomerleau; her siblings, Dorothy LaForme, James Collins, Barry Collins, and Dennis Collins; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Anderson in 2017, and her siblings, William J. Collins, Jr., and Brenda J. Collins.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 9th from 9:00am - 10:30am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian burial will at 11:00 am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry, NH. The family requests that masks are recommended for those vaccinated and required for those not fully vaccinated. The burial will be in the Great Hill Cemetery, Rt. 121A, Chester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
