Obituary

Standish - Brenda L. Pralicz, 62, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, June 4th after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born in Westbrook, Maine on November 24th, 1958, the daughter of Robert E. Joy and Jaqueline E. Joy (Clark). Brenda attended school in Portland, Maine and was an avid homemaker, cleaner, and landscaper. She was always game for any task at hand, whether it be big or small.

She had many interests and talents, just to name a few are her love for cooking, gardening, painting incredible works of art, beaded masterpieces, sculpey clay, decorating, and canning. Her love for German Shepherds was always known. She was a loyal, generous friend who had your back, was the life of the party, and never refused company.

Brenda is predeceased by her husband of 23 years, Edward J. Pralicz, mother Jaqueline E. Joy (Clark), granddaughter Kiara R. Geisinger, and both sets of grandparents.

She is survived by her father, Robert E. Joy, four brothers Michael, Allyn, David, Brian, and their spouses and partner, four children Bobby, Tish, Erica, and Aleah and their significant others, grandchildren Carmen, Tyler, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Robbie, Robert, Ava, and Natalie, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday June 10 at 10 AM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton.

A private, intimate burial will be held at the Maine Veteran’s Cemetery in Augusta, Maine.
