West Newfield - Anthony B. "Chunky" Griffith Sr., 70, died at his home in West Newfield on June 1, 2021 with family by his side. He was born in Limerick on May 12, 1951 a son of Preston and Ella (Lepage) Griffith and attended Newfield schools. He married Sharon Pert on September 7, 1974.
Chunky spent some time working construction and carpentry early on. He worked for most of his life as an auto mechanic, first at Global Auto Salvage in Limerick, then owning and operating his own garage at his home in West Newfield. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. He also liked flying remote control planes. In his younger years, he loved to go dancing with his wife Sharon. He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Leslie "Buddy" Gilpatrick, and 3 sisters: Joan Sargent, Wilma Lucier and Fanny Crenner.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Griffith of West Newfield. His son, Anthony "Tony" Griffith Jr. and his wife Brittany of Limerick. 2 grandsons, Bradley and Cole Griffith. 2 sisters, Faith Brawn and husband Bob of Limerick, and Donna Letellier of Limerick. Also many nieces and nephews.
