Obituary

Dad, Patrick Joseph (Pat) Price, age 65, passed away on May 26th in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Dad was born October 18, 1955 in Sunnyside, WA to John Price and Nora Cantwell Price. Dad was a lifetime resident of the Lower Yakima Valley. He spent his childhood in Grandview and Sunnyside before moving to Prosser in 1969 and graduating from Prosser High School in 1974.

Dad was a skilled carpenter and worked on various projects throughout the Pacific Northwest during his young adult years before establishing employment in the Hanford area where he spent a few years working as a carpenter but spent most of his employment as a truck driver. He retired from the Hanford area in October 2019.

Dad celebrated 43 loving years of marriage with his high school sweetheart, Kay, whom he wed in April of 1978.

Activity and general busyness were among Dad’s favorite hobbies. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, backpacking, camping, skiing, and tending to his immaculate yard and garden. He was very active and could often be found walking around town, at the gym, or riding his bike. Among his favorite places to vacation was the Oregon Coast, where he and our mom would spend time on the beach. One way Dad enjoyed spending time with his children was through coaching. Dad served as a coach for our various sports teams throughout our childhood and in this position, instilled a strong work ethic in us. We are truly grateful for the lessons in hard work he taught us.

Dad is survived by his wife, Kay Price of Prosser, son, Nathan Price of Pasco, daughter, Chelsie (Alyssa) Price Hawley of Spokane, his brothers, Ken Price of Twin Falls (ID), and Bill (Cheri) Price of Twin Falls (ID), his sister, Dolores (Mike) Hutchinson of Sunnyside, his step-sister, Paulette Ellis of Twin Falls (ID), and his Aunt, Dot Faulk of Grandview.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Price, mother, Nora Cantwell Price, and his favorite mother-in-law, Violet Hamilton.

At Dad’s request, there will be no service.
