Dudley
Edward W. Mickelson, 83, passed away May 19, 2021 at Webster Manor Rehabilitation Healthcare Center in Webster.
He was the husband of the late Dianne R. (Belcher) Mickelson who died March 4, 2012.
He leaves behind a daughter, Shelly L. Chalue and her husband Bob of Dudley, 3 sons, John and his companion Karen Sitkowski of Dudley, Edward and his companion Cher, and Daniel of Turners Falls, 5 grandchildren, Kristi Jones, Ashley Fasshauser, Tyler Chalue, Linndsay Markiewicz and Steven Sylvester and a Great grandchild, Kamryn Fasshauser, which were the light of his life as well as many nieces and nephews.
After graduation he joined the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Chairman of the Dudley Housing at Joshua Place, enjoyed cars, the ocean, vacations ,and planes, which he also had a pilots license.
He was born in Worcester June 24, 1937 son of the late Helen Mickelson and was also predeceased by a Joel.
Ed worked for many years as a driver and freight broker for Carolina Freight Company and then drove for Ritchie Bus Company.
Ed’s Funeral Service will be Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 10 AM in the ROBERT J. MILLER FUNERAL HOME and LAKE CHAPEL, 366 School St., Webster , followed by burial with Military Honors provided by the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council at Waldron Cemetery in Dudley.
