Obituary

Richard Harris Deane of Middleboro, Massachusetts was called home by our heavenly father at the age of 79 on May 27th at Colony Center Nursing Home after a long illness.

Born in Marion, Massachusetts in 1941 the only child of Charles Deane and Pauline Deane.

He attended Tabor Academy, Duxbury High School and Barrington College in Rhode Island.

He joined the Navy in 1964 and was stationed at South Weymouth Naval Base, where he was a dental assistant on the USS WASP.

He settled down in Hanson, Massachusetts where he lived with his wife and two children and started his own business called South Shore Interiors.

He had a huge love for antiques and collectibles and had a few different antique shops throughout the years. He loved classical music and taught himself how to play the organ and the violin. He was very active in the church and loved to sing in the choir. He retired and moved to Oak Point in Middleboro, Massachusetts.

He was survived by his wife of 55 years Lynne (Pattison) Deane. He leaves behind a son Christopher Eric Deane and his wife Heather Deane of Halifax. He also leaves behind a daughter Kerri-Lyn Lydon of Osterville, a son in law William Lydon Jr. of Carver, six grandchildren - Austin Deane, Jacob Deane, Nicholas Deane, Jeremy Burrill, Nicholas Lydon and Joshua Lydon, along with his one and only great grandson Rhett William Lydon and his mother Victoria Walker of Plymouth.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services. Visiting hours will be Thursday June 3rd at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) in Whitman, Massachusetts from 4:00 - 7:00PM. Graveside service and burial will be held at the Old Landing Cemetery in Marion, Massachusetts on Friday June 4th at 10:00AM.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday June 5th at the First Baptist Church in Rockland Massachusetts, 200 Union Street, Rockland, Massachusetts at 1:00PM with a reception to follow.
