Obituary

Paul R. Dionne Sr., 78, of Methuen passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at his home surrounded by loving family. Beloved son of the late Oliva and Simone (Dubois) Dionne, he was born in Lawrence on December 27, 1942, and has been an area resident all his life. A graduate of Lawrence High School, Paul served honorably in the National Guard and worked as a driver for Buy-Rite Wholesalers, Falk & White, and Yellow Freight. He was a member of the Teamsters union and a faithful member of St. Monica's Parish. Paul was also a member of the Lawrence Elks Lodge BPOE 65, where he endlessly voluteered for a number of years, and had been named Elk of the Year numerous times. He played for the Elks Pool Team and was a member of the APA Pool League. Paul enjoyed bowling in the Leagues at Park Place Lanes. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and loved to spend time with his family and friends. Paul was a devoted husband, loving father, caring grandfather, and trusted friend. He was kind, generous, and brought happiness to everyone that knew him; never hesitating to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. To those that were close to him, Paul's unique sense of humor brought much laughter, which will be talked about for many years to come. He is survived by the love of his life, wife Rita D. (Chaisson) Dionne of Methuen - Sons: Paul Dionne Jr. and his wife Christine of Salem, NH, Keith Dionne and his companion Brenda Moffatt of Plaistow, NH - Stepchildren: Ken Kondrat of Derry, NH, Kim Surprenant of Dracut, MA, and Kevin Kondrat of Methuen, MA - Grandchildren: Emiley Dionne, Joshua Dionne, Olivia Dionne, Kenneth Kondrat II, Matthew Kondrat, Samantha Surprenant, Alexia Surprenant, Jared Kondrat, and Tyler Moffatt - Great grandchildren: Aaron, Adalena, Audrey, and Andrew - Nieces: Karen Iacono-Knoetig, Pamm Iacono, and Laura Iacono-Benigno along with his parents, Paul was predeceased by his sister Claire Iacono and granddaughter Ashley DellePelle.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, May 31, 2021, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Rd., Dracut. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 11:00 am at St. Monica Church in Methuen, burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover.
