Margaret E. “Peggy” (McDonald) Devine, age 69, of Norton, passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her adoring family on Thursday, May 27, 2021.
Born in Boston, MA on June 19, 1951, she was a loving daughter of the late Joseph F., Sr. and Margaret L. (Hurley) McDonald.
Peggy grew up in the West Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, was a 1969 graduate of Saint Mary’s High School in Brookline and furthered her studies, graduating from Newbury College.
A resident of Norton for the past forty-eight years, Peggy had worked for thirty-three as a Nursing Assistant at the Daggett-Crandall-Newcomb Home in Norton, prior to retiring.
Peggy loved spending time amongst family and friends and had a special place in her heart for her cats “Jasper” and “Riley”. She was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Norton and enjoyed maintaining her yard and engaging in projects around her home.
She is survived by her devoted daughters: Christie M. Devine of Norton, Hayley A. Devine of Braintree and Laurie L. Devine of Norton. She was the dear sister of Joseph F. McDonald, Jr. and his wife Laurajean of Cohasset and Michael G. McDonald of Braintree. She is also survived by her lifelong best friend Maryellen McPhee and her husband Joseph of Northborough, as well as her loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, June 4th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
Graveside burial services will be held on Saturday, June 5th at 10:00 A.M. at the Newland Cemetery, Newland Street, Norton.
