Obituary

Annette Y. LaPrade, 92, formerly of Pascoag, Rhode Island, passed away on Monday, May 24 in the home of her daughter Mrs. Susan M. Antonelli, after a brief illness. She was the widow of Alfred H. LaPrade Sr. They had been married for 65 years before he passed.

Born in Norwich, CT, a daughter of the late Paul and Camilla M. ( Plainfield ) Caouette,. She had lived in Smithfield and Chepachet before moving to Pascoag. Annette had been a Dietitian with the RI School Lunch program for 25 years retiring in 1989. She had been a volunteer at the Lakeview Health Center for many years and had been a member of the VFW Choral group in Plainfield, CT.

Some of her fondest memories were of her father making maple snow taffy and playing the fiddle; her mother sewing dresses and singing to her in French. She also enjoyed shopping with friends, dancing with her husband, and camping trips with her children.
Annette was dearly loved by all and she was sweet, kind and thoughtful to all.

She is survived by her two children, Susan Antonelli and her husband Michael and Alfred H. LaPrade, Jr. and his wife Denise. She was the grandmother to seven grandchildren and great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren. She the mother of the late Norma J. Murray, and Robert E. LaPrade. She was the sister of Paul and Richard (Cookie) Caouette and Jane Zasowski. She was the sister of the late Roland, Lawrence and Andre Caouette and Cecil Exley.

A graveside service will be held at Acotes Hill Cemetery on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Eugene’s Church, 1247 Putnam Pike, Chepachet, Ri 02814
