It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Louise Genest, daughter of the late Fernand and Eloise (Provencher) Genest after a long battle with COPD on May 23, 2021. Doris was born on August 29, 1954 in Manchester where she was educated in local schools and graduated from Trinity High School, class of 1972. Doris began her professional career with BankEast and later Amoskeag Bank. She ended her career as a risk operations manager for J.P. Morgan Chase Bank all despite no post-secondary courses in economics or business. She rose in responsibility due to her dependability and loyalty. Doris loved spending time at her condo in Hampton and favored long walks on the beach. She had a fondness for sandpipers and she decorated her condo accordingly.
Doris was predeceased by her parents but is survived by a brother, Paul Genest of Allenstown, several cousins Andree Provencher of Montreal, Lucie Guimond of Gentilly PQ and Susie Morissette of Trois Rivieres, her godchild Leticia Sobrado of NYC and Leticia’s mother Luna. In addition to these wonderful people, Doris made many lifelong friends notably Pat Morgan, Denise Lee, Diane Simoneau, Barbara Cunningham, JoAnn Nassif, Maryann Ryan and many co-workers from her time at Chase. Among her favorite excursions was a long weekend at Foxwoods where she once hit a straight flush at the Caribbean table. She was a generous donor to Marguerite’s Place in Nashua NH.
In keeping with her wishes Doris will be cremated with interment in the family plot at Saint Augustin cemetery at a later date. If you wish to honor Doris please perform some act of kindness, we all need more of that.
A memorial reception will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 10:30 to 11:30 am at J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral home. A prayer service will take place at 11:30 am following the reception.
