Obituary

Millbury – David L. Collins Jr., 69, of Millbury, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in the Lutheran Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after an illness.

Mr. Collins is survived by his wife, Nina V. (Lamothe) Collins; his two daughters, Randee Lucia and Erica Collins; his two step-sons, Ronald Noel Jr. and Timothy Noel; a step-daughter, Lisa Noel; four brothers, James Collins, Phil Collins, Paul Bilodeau and Tom Bilodeau; 9 grandchildren, Madisyn, Cadence, Eric, Lauren, Ryan, Aiyana, Sophia, Raina and Tiohawihton and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

David was born in Marlborough, son of the late David and Ruth (Christenson) Collins and is predeceased by a son, David Collins Grey and two brothers, Steven Collins and Bobby Collins.

He served in the United States Navy as a Gunner’s Mate Technician during the Vietnam War. David graduated from Westborough High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. David worked for many years as an engineer, most recently with Stratus and the Bose Corporation.

Mr. Collins was a member of Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church in Worcester. He was an avid fisher, enjoying camping and muscle cars and watching both the Patriots and Red Sox, but most of all he enjoyed being with his wife and family.

The funeral for Mr. Collins will be held on Monday, July 19 at 10 AM in Saint Mark’s Church Zero Freeland St. Worcester. Burial with military honors will follow at 2:30 PM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
