Marie Elena (D’Apuzzo) Staffier, a long-time Medford resident entered into peaceful rest, Monday, at home in the company of her loving family.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and the late Jennie (Basile) D´Apuzzo. Marie was raised in Medford and graduated from Saint Clement High School and Bryant and Stratton Junior College. She worked many years as a secretary in the Building Department at Medford City Hall. Marie was also a member of the former Emblem Club of Medford.
She was the beloved wife of 59 years of Frank R. Staffier. She was a loving mother to Irene O’Donnell and her husband Richard of Westford and Frank Staffier and his wife Patricia of Wilmington. She was a devoted grandmother to Mark Staffier and his wife Kerri, Gina Haerer and her husband Jim, Leah Staffier and proud great-grandmother of Jacob and Joshua Haerer. She was a dear sister to Attorney Alfonso D’Apuzzo and his wife Mary, Irene D’Apuzzo, and the late John D’Apuzzo. Marie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dedicated caregivers.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 2 - 6. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
