Obituary

CHICOPEE – Catherine C. (Suprenant) Plasse, 94, of the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home in the Willimansett section of Chicopee on January 23, 1927, a beloved daughter of the late Charles V. and Hannah (Barrett) Suprenant. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. She was employed as an inspector at the former F.W. Sickles and later at the Dielectrics Company, both in Chicopee. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. During her leisure time, she enjoyed solving puzzle books and was known for her wonderful cooking. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Thomas Rene Plasse who was Called Home on June 16, 2005. They were married on May 14, 1949 at the former Saint Mary of the Assumption Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 56 years of happiness together. She leaves her five loving children, Joan Joly, Annette Roy and Kathleen Jackson and her husband, James, all of Chicopee, Michael Plasse and his wife, Silvia, of Hoosick Falls, NY and Peter Plasse and his partner, Donna Marryatt, of Irvington, AL; her three cherished granddaughters, Elizabeth Gasiewski and her husband, Stan, of Westfield and Christine Wessig and Brenda Wessig and her fiancé, Greg Hanley, all of Chicopee; her many cherished great grandchildren; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her loving son in law, Richard Joly, her cherished grandson, Thomas Joly; her two dear sisters and her brother in law, Virginia Suprenant and Phyllis Lemke and her husband, Clyde; and her dear brother and sister in law, Charles “John” Suprenant and his wife, Katherine “Rena” Suprenant. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Please note that masks are required, social distancing must be observed and funeral home, Church and cemetery attendance are limited to due to state regulations.
