Obituary

SPRINGFIELD - Mary T. "Meme" DeRosier, 82, of the South End section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, May 16, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at Vero Health and Rehab or Wilbraham surrounded by all of the memories that she loved and cherished. She was born in Springfield on February 5, 1939, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph O. and Eleanor R. (DeBarge) DeRosier. She was raised and educated in Springfield and had lived in Springfield her entire life. She was employed at the former Lauren Sports Wear in West Springfield and was a communicant of the former Saint Joseph Church in Springfield. During her leisure time, she enjoyed playing cards and board games and also loved trying her luck at many local bingo games and the casinos. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear sister, Cecile D. "Moo Moo" Heath; and her three dear brothers, John, Richard and David DesRosier. She leaves her many cherished nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Prayer Service on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Saint Michael Cemetery, (Saint Anthony Section in the Cemetery), 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109. There are no visiting hours. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. PIerre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
