Obituary

SOUTH PORTLAND- Thomas McVaile Malley, 71, of South Portland, Maine passed away on May 16, 2021, after a year-long illness of cancer.

Tom was born on May 21, 1949 in Somerville, Massachusetts to Lloyd George Malley and Audrey Purslow Malley, both former Maine residents. The family moved to Portland, Maine when Tom was age 11. Tom was a 1968 graduate of Deering High School. He resided in South Portland for 42 years.

Under the tutelage of his father George, Tom entered the trade of fleet mechanic in 1978. After his father's retirement, Tom owned and operated his business, Fleet Service Garage, in Portland. He retired in 2015.

Tom was a lifelong photographer and birdwatcher. Upon retirement, he became an avid golfer. He enjoyed guitar music, traveling, was a history buff and had an extensive collection of old westerns. Over the years, Tom loved and was loved by his numerous cats and dog, Bella.

Tom leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, Sarah Malley, daughter Deirdre Malley and son Marc Hepp. Tom is also survived by his brother David Malley, sister Patricia Nocera, granddaughter Julia Hepp, niece Alicia Nocera and nephews John Malley and James Malley.

Burial will be held at a later date at Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland, Maine.
