Rita J. (Guarente) Kady, of West Yarmouth, formerly of Medford, passed away on Wednesday, May 12th. She was 78. Born and raised in Medford, she was the cherished daughter of the late Edward and Raffaella (Freda) Guarente.
Rita had a kind disposition, a heart of gold and a one of a kind bubbly personality. When Rita entered the room you would instantly hear laughter. Rita was a glamorous, classy, and elegant lady. Her hair and makeup was always meticulously done. A top notched dresser, the old familiar saying “dressed to the nines” described Rita perfectly. Rita was a natural fashionista and enjoyed going shopping whether at the local boutiques, shopping plazas or from home on her favorite home shopping network QVC.
Rita was the one you could count on to keep in touch. She would call her daughters, granddaughters and girlfriend’s daily, most likely a lunch invitation was sure to follow. When Rita was not making everyone laugh or looking for the next best bargain she was with her family. She loved spending time with them especially with her granddaughters. Rita absolutely adored being a Nana. Her family was her pride and joy they were her world.
Rita was a devoted mother of Lori Mcdonald and her husband Mark, and Karen DeVincent and her loving companion David DelTorto. She was a loving Nana of Devin, Brooke and Reese. She was a caring cousin of Marie DiCarlo. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Kady.
Her funeral will be from Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Wednesday, May 26th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 - 8 pm. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Social distancing protocols will be in place during all service.
