AUGUSTA, MAINE: Clifford F. Haines, age 77, a former resident of Tewksbury, died Sunday, March 26, 2006 at the Maine Central Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Augusta, Maine.
He was the husband of the late Barbara P. (Dunn).
Born in Lowell on February 1, 1929, he was the son of the late Clifford H. and Lillian M. (Collins) Haines.
Mr. Haines was raised in Tewksbury.
He attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury High School.
Mr. Haines later attended the McLean Hospital School of Nursing in Belmont, Mass., where he received certification as a registered nurse.
Prior to his retirement in 1984, he was employed as a registered nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Togus, Maine.
Mr. Haines resided in Northhampton, MA and Brecksville, OH until moving to Richmond, ME in 1973.
He later moved to Augusta, Maine where he lived for over 20 years.
Mr. Haines attended St. John’s Episcopal Church of Lowell.
He was a 50 year member of Wamesit Lodge AF & AM of Tewksbury.
Mr. Haines was an avid model plane enthusiast and was a member of the Southern Maine Chapter of the International Plastic Modelers Society.
According to family members, he had painstakingly constructed and preserved over 1000 models including a replica of the U.S.S. Constitution.
In addition, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tracing his family’s genealogy.
Mr. Haines is survived by one son; John T. Haines and his wife Kathy J. (Arneson) of Tewksbury; three grandchildren; Elizabeth J. McMeniman and her husband Keith of Dracut, Cassandra J. Haines of Waterville, ME and Kimberly A. Haines of Tewksbury.
Mr. Haines was the brother of the late Marilyn J. “Joy” Haines.
Calling hours Thursday, March 30th, 5-8 p.m.(Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m.) at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral service Friday, March 31st, 10 a.m., at the funeral home.
