Norma Mom Gammie Great Gammie

Norma (Pellino) Peters passed away peacefully on May 12, 2021 with her family by her side, and joins the love of her life Arthur, who passed away at an early age 49 years ago. She was born in Hartford, Ct., daughter of Lucia (Procaccino) and Antonio Pellino who had immigrated to the United States from Bisaccia, Italy.
She was very proud of her Italian heritage and having lived to the age of 96 saw many changes and was part of what is called the “Greatest Generation.”
She lived in Hartford, graduating from Buckley High, working at Heinz Foods and marrying her high school sweetheart Art. They soon moved to Simsbury, Ct. and moved into their house built by her father “Tone”. Her and Art loved traveling , especially to Europe visiting the village where her parents were born, They also enjoyed dining out and going to plays.
They went on to have 3 children and later moved to Charlton where she lived for 53 years. She ran the business her husband had started, Arthur M. Peters
Company, manufacturer representative in the lawn and garden industry, for years and then worked at Centre Coffee Shoppe in Charlton with family members.
She loved Siamese cats, hot fudge sundaes and seafood, especially lobster. She always had snacks whether it was nuts, cookies or candy. She enjoyed watching sports and was a Red Sox fan for many years. She was a member of the Charlton Senior Center and its knitting group where she would knit blankets and hats for the hospital or the church to be given out. She enjoyed painting , playing the lottery, bingo, watching the Golden Girls, playing dress up with her grand -daughters, gardening, collecting knickknacks and trips to the casino with her best friend and sister, Cira. Every Halloween she would go to her granddaughters houses to enjoy Trick or Treating with her great grandchildren and seeing them in her handmade costumes she would custom make for them. She spent every holiday and birthday surrounded by her grandchildren and great –grandchildren and especially enjoyed their Sunday dinners together.
She was predeceased by her husband Arthur, daughter Valerie Prunier, sister Cira Ferris and a brother Luigi (Lou) Pellino.
She is survived by 2 sons. David and his wife Donna of Charlton and Stephen of Chelsea, Vt.,grandchildren: Erin Lefebvre and her husband Patrick, Ashley Alexion and her husband James, Zane Peters. and Angela Prunier and her 9 great –grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. Burial will be in West Ridge Cemetery in Charlton with a private service.
The family wishes to thank the 5th floor staff at The Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester for the great care they gave her and also Father Bob at St. Joseph’s
Church in Charlton.
Donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Church in Charlton in her memory.
