Obituary

CHICOPEE – Joan A. (Fogarty) Duprey, 78, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, May 10, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Springfield on September 14, 1942, a beloved daughter of the late James Joseph Fogarty and Bessie C. (Cooley) Fogarty Crosley. She was raised in Springfield, attended local schools and lived in Springfield before moving to Chicopee where she lived for many years. She was last employed as a Crossing Guard and Lunch Lady for the Chicopee School Department. She was a member of TOPS in Chicopee. Most of all, she was a wonderful homemaker to her family and showered them with her love and affection. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard N. Duprey who was Called Home on May 30, 2007. She leaves her two devoted daughters, Sandra M. Duprey and Susan D. Duval and her husband, Martin, all of Chicopee; her three cherished grandchildren, Robert Duke Jr., Daniel Duval and Nicole Goodroe and her husband, Curtis; her three cherished great-granddaughters, Dianna, Elsaleigh and Hayzel; her two loving sisters, Diane Zollo and Judith Bingle, both of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. which will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Celebration of Life Service at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
